Greenback Valley Ranch
Founded in 1872, Greenback Valley Ranch stands as one of Arizona’s oldest continuously operated family ranches and its history is deeply intertwined with the settlement of the state’s central highlands. The ranch traces its origins to David Harer, who was encouraged to explore the Sierra Ancha region by his friend, Captain Hancock of Fort Reno. In time, Harer’s daughter Alice met and married Edward Charles Conwy, beginning a new chapter in the ranch’s history. From that a legacy began – one that would see the Conway family manage Greenback Ranch for more than six generations. Now marking 150 years of unbroken family ranching, the Greenback Valley Ranch endures as a symbol of perseverance, integrity, and the enduring bond between land and linage. This historic ranch continues to uphold the traditions and values that have defined Arizona’s ranching heritage.
